Goa summer: March to May

Goa during these three months is extremely hot with a maximum temperature crossing 35C (95F). The coastal effect reduces the minimum temperature to 25C. Thus, mornings are hot and humid and evenings are congenial in Goa in summer. Generally there is no rainfall, but the atmosphere doesn't get dry either due to the incoming moisture from the sea. The month of May has usually recorded the highest temperature.

Visiting spice plantations, bird watching, sightseeing tours, swimming and diving in the sea, and lazing by the beach are the best tourist activities in Goa in summer.

Tourists are suggested to wear sun-shades and sun-block while spending time outside in the sun. Light cotton clothes are comfortable in this weather in Goa. Full sleeves are advised to those having a fast-tanning skin.

Goa monsoon: June to September

In Goa, maximum (90%) rainfall occurs in these four months in the entire year. The parched fields transform into exuberant greenery all over. Goa rises as a beautiful lady walking tenderly along the lush rice fields overlooking the swaying palm trees. The arrival of the rains is celebrated flourishingly all over India including Goa.

July and August see maximal heavy continuous downpour with strong winds. Tourists are advised to stay indoors when the heavy rain falls as there might be road blocks and water jamming.

Goa autumn: October to mid-November

Towards the end of the rains, Goa is left with grand green fields and hills and moist weather. The famous Goa winter is coming. The autumn in Goa is a little wet, a little warm but overall pleasant. Film festivals happen at this time. So, Goa sees early tourists arriving already.

Goa winter: mid-November to February

Common to the whole of tropical India, Goa also gets the best weather during the winter season. With max and min temperatures as 25C and 18C, the Goa climate is cool and kosher at this time.

Festivals are celebrated with much merriment on the beaches. Beaches in Goa at this time are absolutely fantastic. Sunbathing to diving, paragliding to swimming, late night outings to parties on the beach - Goa is open to your wild and adventurous imagination.

It is no wonder that tourism in Goa at this time of the year experiences the peak. Travel to Goa becomes more expensive due to the rate hikes of flights, hotels and tour packages. Irrespective of the price hike tourists love to come to Goa in winter.
