Far from madding world, Benaulim Beach is a destination unto itself. The tranquil environment that surrounds it makes it apart from other beaches of Goa. No travel to Goa is complete if a visit to this marvelous beach is not undertaken.
Situated 2 km south of Colva, Benaulim is an excellent escape to serene environment and one of the finest beaches in India. It is a fishing beach where life remains the same for the locals. Mostly fishermen, they venture out to the sea to earn their livelihood.
With miles of stunning palm fringed white sand beaches, Benaulim is fast emerging a favorite travel destination of India. It is a pleasant experience to have soothing sunbath and view the colorful sunrise and sunset.
Benaulim beach is lined with brightly adorned fleet of wooden outrigger. The seafood is excellent; motorbikes and accommodation are cheaper than anywhere else in Goa. The beach at sunset time is particularly spectacular. One of the major attractions in Benaulim is bullfight, which is held to the accompaniment live Konkani music from October to May. The bullfights are held in an old rice field with no fences or barricades just outside a village.
